What is Aneddo?
Aneddo is an AI audio guide for Rome that works while you walk. It notices when you are near something worth knowing, asks if you want the story, tells it in your earbuds and answers your questions by voice.
How does Aneddo work?
Put your phone in your pocket and one earbud in. Aneddo runs in the background. Near a place with a story it asks first, for example: "You're 50 m from the Pantheon. Want to know why it has a hole in the roof?" Say yes, or nod with compatible AirPods, and it starts. You can interrupt with a question at any time.
Do I have to look at my phone?
No. Aneddo talks in your earbuds and listens when you answer, so you can keep your eyes on the city.
Where does Aneddo work?
Rome is the first city. Stories cover history, architecture, film locations, food and hidden spots.
How much does Aneddo cost?
The Rome 72-hour pass costs €3.99 at launch, then €5.99. Your first walk is free. The October 2026 beta is free.
When is Aneddo available?
A free beta opens in Rome in October 2026. The public launch is planned for 2027. Join the waitlist on aneddo.com to get access.
Which languages does Aneddo speak?
English and Italian from day one.
Is Aneddo available on iPhone and Android?

Is Aneddo an AI?
Yes. Stories start from verified sources and are reviewed by people. When you ask something, the answer comes from an AI, and Aneddo tells you when it doesn't know.
What happens to my location?
It stays on your phone. Your route is never stored on Aneddo's servers.
Does it drain the battery?
Aneddo only wakes up near places worth a story. It does not track you continuously.
Can I listen to music at the same time?
Yes. Aneddo lowers your music while it talks, then brings it back up.
How is Aneddo different from a classic audio guide?
A classic audio guide makes you look for numbers and press play. Aneddo knows where you are, asks before it talks, skips what you don't care about and answers follow-up questions like a friend who knows the city.
Can I save places I see on Instagram or TikTok?
Yes. Share a reel or a screenshot to Aneddo. It finds the place, saves it to your trip and reminds you when you are nearby.
Does Aneddo suggest where to eat?
Yes. Ask by voice and it picks a well-rated place along your route, then adds it to your day.
